Hiring managers are looking for more than just design deliverables and UX skills.
They want to see if you can use those skills to drive a business and product forward. We made this course to fill in the biggest gaps between the classroom and the work professional designers do everyday.
See examples and common scenarios, and how business goals can impact your design decisions. Learn the terms, processes, and skills needed to find the balance.
You’ll create two portfolio projects and presentations for real clients that show your ability to design effective solutions for both users and businesses.
Learn the business goals of a working farm that supplies veggies to New York restaurants.
Help MentorBuddies connect students with mentors while creating new business opportunities.
Joe has taught UX Design at General Assembly in New York for seven years as a Distinguished Faculty Member, and has created and taught Entrepreneurship courses at Fordham University Business School. Through these roles, he has worked with thousands of designers-in-training to help them take the next steps in their career.
Use the same tools professional designers use every day to design, collaborate, and build experiences that solve problems for users and businesses.
A place to collaborate, share, collect feedback, and outline your next great idea.

UX Design for Business Goals is a part-time course offered in one or two week options in the evenings. Get tons of experience without quitting your day job, or selling your stamp collection.
Yes! As a professional designer, you’ll be faced with achieving business goals of all shapes and sizes. This course will give you the foundation and processes to solve new problems effectively and confidently.
We recommend attending every session, however recordings and material are available if that isn’t possible. If you expect to miss more than one session, we recommend letting us know so we can work out a solution.
The course contains about 1 hour of pre-work, and 15 hours of live instruction. There is no mandatory work outside of our live sessions, however we assign optional homework each day, and tons of next steps to complete after the course.
This course is beginner friendly, and will be best for designers who have some UX experience or education, and are familiar with the UX design process.
If you’re early in your UX journey, graduating a longer bootcamp, or pursuing a career switch to UX, this class will be perfect for you.
